Dynamic Staging Highlights Fanfare and Fun
In 2007, the front lawn of the National Constitution Center (NCC) was again the setting for the prestigious Liberty Medal presentation event. This year, George H. W. Bush, NCC Chairman of the Board, presented the award to Bono, honoring him for his involvement in (PRODUCT) RED, which raises money for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Teaming up with ABC Channel 6, Advanced set up an upgraded truss structure to provide better all-around lighting to enhance the “live” image and improve the broadcast video. To heighten the experience, a large scenic backdrop was used as the palette for gobos and digital images that captured the nature of Bono’s work. The audio design created perfect acoustics for a variety of musical acts and entertainment, which included an African American children’s choir and a dramatic vignette. The evening gala brought attendees indoors, where Advanced provided the audio, lighting, and video projection, using a fabric panel up-light system for the windows that transformed the environment into a wall of ever-changing color. Perfect staging for a dynamic and memorable event.
